Issues of visibility and strategies of visualization are addressed and made productive in six workshops held during the course of OURS. Moderated by participating artists and Parsons faculty, they are open to the public and modeled on design charrettes, collaborative efforts that address specific challenges in order to generate immediate practical solutions. For each charrette, a class from Parsons devotes one lesson to the problem contained by the work, with the goal of creating documents, objects, platforms, or gestures that enter the public sphere as incidents of political agency. Presented within the center of the gallery on the stage-like structure designed for this purpose by artist Liam Gillick, the participatory process itself is on display, but through its result reaches out into the surrounding urban- and media-fabric.
